Laws vary and change

Landlord-tenant law differs from state to state and sometimes city to city, and it changes frequently. Notice periods, required wording, service methods, filing fees and court forms described or generated on this site may not be correct for your situation. Always check the current law and your court’s requirements.

Generated documents

Documents produced by our wizards and form generators are general templates based on your answers. Review them carefully. Where your court or state requires an official form, use the official form.

General-format documents

Where we have no official form to fill in, the Court Forms Wizard can produce an EvictWeb general-format complaint, notice or answer. These are not official court forms — ask the clerk whether your court requires its own form.

Filled-in official court forms

The Court Forms Wizard copies your answers into the official PDF forms we have on file for your county. We don’t check your answers, we can’t guarantee that a form is the current version or the right form for your case, and some items are left blank for you to complete by hand. Read every page, correct anything that is wrong, sign where required and ask the court clerk how to file.

Court details and official forms

Court clerk details and official forms were compiled from public sources and may be out of date. Confirm addresses, phone numbers, hours and fees with the clerk before filing.
